Profile:
Jana Javakhishvili, a Georgian national, founded the Foundation for Development of Human Resources (FDHR) in 1996.
This non-governmental organization has been instrumental in providing psychosocial rehabilitation for socially vulnerable groups, such as internally displaced persons from Abkhazia and South Ossetia and refugees from Chechnya, who had experienced political conflict.
Since 2000, she has been actively involved in research on treatment modalities for addictions, as well as providing psychological assistance to traumatized communities. During her time at ICTE, Jana focused on learning methods of tolerance developed within the United States, as well as other parts of the world. She also contributed to discussions at the Center on her experiences of working with divided and traumatized communities.
