Biographical
Profile:
Matilde Perez Romero holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Guerrero-Chilpancingo. She has worked as a lawyer for the Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon, a human rights center in Chilapa, Guerroro.
Subsequently, she worked for Tlachinollan Human Rights Center, where she specializes in legal aid and mediating in conflict between family members and in cases of domestic violence. Matilde was closely involved in an investigative analysis of human rights violations against internal and international migrants in Guerrero.
Prior to being a fellow at SoT, she attended the Human Rights Academy at the Washington College of Lone at the American University, which enabled her to understand how to use international protection mechanisms in relation to the human rights work she undertakes with migrants.
